Overview

Gypsona is a roll bandage of open-weave cloth loaded with plaster of Paris that is dipped in water and wrapped around a limb. It sets into a rigid shell used to immobilise fractures and to hold limbs in corrected positions after orthopaedic treatment. It is the conventional choice for cast rooms and emergency departments that prefer plaster over synthetic materials.
